Have you ever gone to a store, looking at all those video games and wanting to try them? Better yet, have you ever looked at those games and wondering: what if I was a part of that? What if I was one of the testers of that game?
While this is just a dream for many people, there are a select few where this dream has come true and are working closely with video game companies and working on improving their products, testing unreleased games, giving suggestions, making that game theirs.
But looking for video game testing job openings is more than just opening up the newspaper and setting up a job interview. You need to know what you’re doing. These companies are extremely demanding when it comes to video game tester. That is why even if you do manage to set an interview for a video game tester job you’ll most likely be lost in the shuffle with all the other people trying to get that job.
The thing is: those people may actually have been trained to find those jobs and know how to handle them. Just like any other job interview, you’ll need to tell them why you want that job, what they can expect from you as an employee and if you don’t know beforehand what they’re looking after, I’m afraid it’s going to be terribly hard to find a job as a video game tester.
You need to know how to become a video game tester and if that is your dream then you need to go out there and fight for it.
